Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP): A systematic review and classification

Purpose: Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) aims to deal with variability by adjusting inventory levels while maintaining, or even increasing, customer service levels. This approach bridges the push and pull approaches. Even though it first made its appearance in 2011, research this field remains relatively limited. paper measure spatiotemporal evolution of DDMRP, scope context implementation, lines studied that order identify areas still need be addressed future researchers.Design/methodology/approach: The systematic literature review adopted examines dealing DDMRP published different languages between 2009 2020. To-date papers focused on performance analysis comparison, what differentiates study is focus scientific level parameters, contexts should more studied.Findings: results show not yet a mature method robustness needs tested. More also required determine scientifically some setting how proposed could implemented industrial existing information systems.Originality/value: Based outlines current state maturity shortcomings under broader vision make complete level.
